The road to WrestleMania begins at the Royal Rumble

I think no one of my readers actually follow wrestling, but if you do now would be a good time to stop reading. And if you don't care about wrestling, well, too bad for you!

This past sunday was the date for one of the best Pay Per Views of the year, Royal Rumble! First we of course had your standard championship matches. The ECW one I really don't care about all that much about and besides, it was quite obvious that Christian would retain his belt. I was seriously impressed by Ezekiel Jackson however, dearie me that guy has buffed up!

I will not go into details on every match, that would take forever. The divas match was of course a bit silly, the girl matches usually are but I am happy that Micke James gave silly McCool (what a lame alias) what she deserved. Furthermore Sheamus defeated the wonderful Randy Orton due to Cody Rhodes interfering, even though I want to see the Age of Orton restart I can not be angry at Cody since he been one of my favorites since the start of Legacy. The Miz beat MVP for United States belt (one of those small belts that really aren't all that interesting).
The Undertaker won over Rey Mysterio and that made me a happy camper indeed! I can not stand that little annoying squeeky overrated bouncing ball! I do hope they don't give him a new contract.

And then for the main event, the Royal Rumble match itself! One thing became obvious pretty fast, CM Punk should not be given a mic! This new story line with the Straigh Edge Society is a bit of a bore. Overall, I was a bit disappointed with the Rumble, not all that many stars was in the ring at the same time. Most of the time it was 2-4 and I have always loved when it is 10+ people and there are fights all over the place. I really disliked Shawn Michaels, he eliminated both John Morrison and Cody Rhodes! I always get into wrestling alot so I of course sat cursing and pouting.
But then, then it happened! Close to the end, as entry #29! The clock strikes 0 and there are a few quiet seconds before the entrance music starts... "You think you know me..." and I screamed, oh dear I screamed. Edge is back! Finally finally finally! (Yes, we could have looked it up in advance but what is the fun with that? We all know it is scripted, that doesn't make it less fun!) And there he was, wonderful as ever and the stadium went crazy, they screamed and cheered and jumped and screamed some more. And I so wish I had been there, I would have screamed as loud as anyone!
And he won! Of course he won, they wouldn't bring him back and then NOT let him win but still. When Cena went over that top roap and the audience screamed, I screamed... again. Oh it is pure joy, and I can not wait for WrestleMania where wonderful Edge will main event!
